Next Chapter Living – Privacy Policy

Effective Date: March 30, 2026

Who we are.

Next Chapter Living, LLC (“Next Chapter Living,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) operates an online directory that helps seniors and families discover senior living options and enables senior living businesses (“Facilities”) to list their communities (the “Platform”). By using the Platform, you agree to this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Platform. We may update this Policy and will change the Effective Date when we do.

1) Scope & Audience

  • U.S. focus: Our Platform is intended for use in the United States.
  • No medical advice / no PHI: We do not request or store personal health information (PHI) as defined by the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA). Next Chapter Living is not a HIPAA-covered entity. Please do not include medical details in messages, forms, or uploads. If you inadvertently provide health-related information through a contact form, message, or other submission, we will treat it with reasonable care but cannot guarantee the protections required under HIPAA.
  • Children: The Platform is not for individuals under 18. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 18. If we learn that we have collected personal information from anyone under 18, we will take steps to delete it promptly.

2) Information We Collect

We collect information you provide, information collected automatically, and information from third parties/public sources.

A. Information You Provide

  • Account & profile data (e.g., name, email, phone number, password).
  • Business listing data for Facilities (e.g., business name, address, services, photos, pricing, availability).
  • Messages & interactions (e.g., inquiries, tour bookings, waitlist sign-ups).
  • Payment & billing (Facilities) – processed by Stripe; Next Chapter Living does not store full card numbers.
  • SMS/text messaging opt-in data: If you provide your phone number and consent to receive text messages from Next Chapter Living, we collect your phone number, your messaging consent status, the date and time of your opt-in, and the method by which consent was provided (e.g., web form submission, checkbox selection).

B. Information Collected Automatically

  • Usage, device, and network data (pages viewed, clicks, referrers, IP address, browser, OS, approximate location inferred from IP).
  • Cookies and similar technologies for essential operations, analytics, and (where enabled) advertising.

C. Third-Party & Public Sources

  • Public Regulatory Data for Unclaimed Profiles. We compile profiles of Facilities that have not claimed or subscribed to a listing (“Unclaimed Profiles”) using publicly available state and federal sources (e.g., licensing, inspection/survey outcomes, citations/violations, fines, ratings/grades). Official agency websites remain the source of truth and may be more current.
  • Neighborhood Metrics & Hospitals. We display neighborhood context such as walkability/transit scores, local crime metrics, and the distance to nearby hospitals. Crime metrics are sourced from the Zyla Labs “Crime Data By ZipCode” API. Walk/transit scores and other neighborhood indicators may come from third-party providers. These third-party data products are provided “as-is,” and are subject to those providers’ terms, methodologies, and update cycles. We are not affiliated with those providers and do not guarantee accuracy or coverage.
  • Sources may evolve. We may add, replace, or supplement public and third-party sources over time. See our Terms and Conditions (including any Appendices) for illustrative source listings and additional disclosures.

3) How We Use Information

  • Operate, secure, and improve the Platform (including troubleshooting, analytics, and product development).
  • Facilitate consumer-to-facility messaging, inquiries, tours, and waitlists.
  • Send SMS/text messages to users who have opted in, including follow-up messages, responses to inquiries, and informational messages about the Platform. Message frequency varies based on user activity and interactions.
  • Create and display Unclaimed Profiles using Public Regulatory Data.
  • Provide analytics and business dashboards to Facilities for their own listings.
  • Process Facility subscriptions and payments (via Stripe).
  • Personalize content and measure site performance.
  • Compliance: prevent fraud, enforce our Terms, and meet legal obligations.
  • De-identification: We may aggregate or de-identify data for analytics, product development, or research; we do not attempt to re-identify de-identified data.

4) How We Share Information

We do not sell personal information for money. We may “share” (as defined under certain state laws) identifiers and online activity with analytics/advertising partners for cross-context behavioral advertising where enabled; see Your Privacy Rights (§8) to opt out.

  • With Facilities you contact (when you message, request info, book a tour, or join a waitlist).
  • With service providers (hosting, analytics, email, customer support, payments).
  • For legal reasons (to comply with law, protect rights/safety, or prevent fraud).
  • In a business transaction (e.g., merger or acquisition), subject to this Policy.

We do not share your details with Facilities you have not selected.

SMS/Text Messaging Consent and Data Protection. All the above categories exclude text messaging originator opt-in data and consent; this information will not be shared with any third parties. We do not sell, rent, loan, trade, lease, or otherwise transfer for profit any phone numbers or personal information collected through our SMS opt-in process to any third party for marketing or promotional purposes. Your SMS consent data is used solely by Next Chapter Living for the purpose of sending you the text messages you have opted in to receive. This restriction applies to all affiliates and subsidiaries of Next Chapter Living as well.

5) Public Facility Data & Unclaimed Profiles

We compile Unclaimed Profiles from public state/federal sources (e.g., licensing, surveys, violations, fines, ratings). Accuracy disclaimer: data may lag official updates or contain source errors. Official websites remain the source of truth.

Dispute/feedback process: Email [email protected] with the facility name, URL, the specific item you believe is inaccurate, and a link to the official record. We will review and may update, annotate, or link to the official source. We do not guarantee a change or timeline.

6) Neighborhood Metrics & Third-Party Data

Neighborhood context (e.g., walk/transit scores, crime metrics, nearest hospitals) is provided by external providers/APIs for informational purposes. Crime metrics are sourced from Zyla Labs’ “Crime Data By ZipCode” API; other indicators may be provided by third parties such as Walk Score/Transit Score or similar. Methodologies and updates vary. We do not independently validate these metrics and make no warranties as to their accuracy or timeliness. All trademarks and proprietary content remain the property of their respective owners.

7) Cookies, Analytics, Ads & Signals

  • Cookies/SDKs for site functionality, analytics (e.g., GA4), and — if enabled — advertising. Manage preferences via our cookie banner or your browser.
  • Do Not Track (DNT): industry standards are not uniform; we generally do not respond to DNT signals.
  • Global Privacy Control (GPC): where required, we honor GPC as a valid request to opt out of “sale/share.”

8) Your Privacy Rights & Choices (State-by-State)

All users: You can access/update account details, opt out of marketing emails, and control cookies. To make a privacy request, email [email protected] with your name, the state you reside in, and your request type (access, delete, correct, opt-out). We will verify your identity (and, if applicable, authorized agents). We will respond to verifiable consumer requests within the timeframes required by applicable state law (typically 45 days, with extensions where permitted).

  • A) California (CCPA/CPRA): Rights include know/access, delete, correct, opt out of sale/share (including via GPC), limit use/disclosure of sensitive PI, and non-discrimination. We do not sell PI for money. Where analytics/ads constitute “sharing,” you may opt out via our “Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information” link and GPC. Publicly available government records may not be considered “personal information.” California residents may also designate an authorized agent to submit requests on their behalf by providing written authorization.
  • B) Virginia, Colorado, Connecticut, Utah, and Other States with Comprehensive Privacy Laws: Rights may include access, delete, correct, and opt-out of targeted advertising (and certain profiling). Appeals: If we deny a request, reply with “Appeal of Privacy Request.” We will respond within applicable timelines and, if denied again, provide how to contact your State Attorney General. As additional states enact comprehensive privacy legislation, we will honor the consumer rights provided under those laws as they become effective.
  • C) Nevada (NRS 603A): Nevada residents may opt out of the “sale” of covered information by emailing [email protected] with “Nevada Opt-Out” in the subject line.

9) SMS/Text Messaging Privacy

If you opt in to receive text messages from Next Chapter Living, the following applies:

  • Consent: By providing your phone number and checking the SMS consent box on our contact form or any other opt-in mechanism on the Platform, you expressly consent to receive informational text messages from Next Chapter Living, including follow-ups, responses to inquiries, and information about the Platform.
  • Message frequency: Message frequency varies based on your interactions with the Platform and the nature of your inquiries.
  • Message and data rates: Standard message and data rates may apply depending on your mobile carrier and plan.
  • Opt-out: You can opt out of receiving text messages at any time by replying STOP to any message you receive from us. After you text STOP, we will send a confirmation message, and you will no longer receive text messages from Next Chapter Living. If you wish to re-enroll, you may do so through the opt-in process on our website.
  • Help: For assistance with our text messaging program, reply HELP to any message or contact us at [email protected].
  • No sharing of consent data: As stated in Section 4, text messaging originator opt-in data and consent will not be shared with any third parties. This means your phone number collected through our SMS opt-in process, your consent to receive messages, and any related data will never be sold, rented, or disclosed to third parties for their own marketing or promotional purposes.
  • Carriers: Carriers (including but not limited to AT&T, T-Mobile, and Verizon) are not liable for any delayed or undelivered messages.
  • Privacy: For complete details on how we handle your personal information, please review this Privacy Policy in its entirety.

10) TCPA Compliance

Next Chapter Living complies with the Telephone Consumer Protection Act (TCPA) and all applicable Federal Communications Commission (FCC) regulations regarding text messaging. We only send text messages to individuals who have provided their prior express consent to receive such messages. We honor all opt-out requests promptly and maintain records of consent in accordance with applicable law.

11) Data Retention

  • Account data & Facility subscription records: while the account is active and for up to 7 years thereafter (tax/audit/legal).
  • Messages & inquiry history: typically 24 months after last activity (or longer if required).
  • Analytics (GA4): user-level data is retained 2–14 months per GA4 settings; aggregated analytics may be retained longer.
  • SMS opt-in records and consent data: retained for the duration of your participation in the messaging program and for a reasonable period thereafter to demonstrate compliance with applicable laws and regulations.

We may retain de-identified or aggregate information indefinitely.

12) Accuracy, Disputes & Corrections (Public Facility Data)

If you believe a facility’s public regulatory information on our site is inaccurate or outdated, email [email protected] with the facility name, URL, specific issue, and a link to the official state/federal source (or attach the official record). We will review and may update, annotate, or link to the source. We do not guarantee a change or timeline; the official website remains authoritative.

13) Security

We implement reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to protect the personal information we collect and maintain. These measures include encryption of data in transit, access controls, and regular security assessments. However, no method of transmission over the internet or method of electronic storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. If you have reason to believe that your interaction with us is no longer secure, please contact us immediately at [email protected].

14) Payments (Stripe)

We use Stripe to process Facility payments. Stripe independently collects and processes certain payment-related data per its policies. Please review Stripe’s Privacy Policy and related terms for details.

15) Third-Party Links & Services

Our Platform may link to third-party sites or include third-party widgets. We are not responsible for their privacy practices. Review their policies before providing information. Our inclusion of third-party links does not constitute endorsement of those sites or their content.

16) Children

The Platform is not intended for individuals under 18 years of age, and we do not knowingly collect information from children under 18. If a parent or guardian becomes aware that their child has provided us with personal information, they should contact us at [email protected] so that we can take appropriate action.

17) International Users

Our Platform is intended primarily for users in the United States. If you access the Platform from outside the U.S., your data will be transferred to and stored in the U.S. By using the Platform, you consent to this transfer and processing.

18) Do Not Call / Do Not Text

Next Chapter Living maintains an internal do-not-call and do-not-text list. If you wish to be added to our internal do-not-text list, you may text STOP to any message or email [email protected] with “Do Not Text” in the subject line. We will process your request within 10 business days.

19) Changes to This Policy

We may update this Policy from time to time. Material changes will be posted on the Platform with a new Effective Date. We encourage you to review this Policy periodically. Your continued use of the Platform after the posting of changes constitutes your acceptance of such changes.
